Editors require patience and perseverance but it is a very rewarding job when you get the final product.

There are two main types of editing really, creative editing and News editing.

Creative editing allows you to mess around with the footage in most ways you see fit as an editor, you can tell the story and even sometimes add your own twist!

If you prefer a more formulaic editing style then News editing is more for you, there is a certain amount of creativity but you must also be good at keeping the style of the programme similar to all the previous ones.
