Hi! I’m a second year English Lit and Politics student from West Yorkshire and as the current Station Manager of RU:ON I’m looking to get as many fun people involved in this great team as possible. I started coming along to RU:ON as a clueless first year with the ability to point a camera and not much else! I’ve learnt so many skills and had some brilliant laughs with this group of people and now the station is a big part of my life, recently I filmed Reading Uni’s own Harlem Shake video in Park Bar with over 400 people taking part.
Any questions about the society, what we do and how to get involved feel free to email me at
Head of Production
Aryan Alipour
Hello there, my name is Aryan and I’ve been with RU:ON for over two years now, editing and producing shows. My role in RU:ON is to train and support the production of one off and series productions within the TV network. If you want to develop your skills or produce a show, I’m the person to talk to about it. I’m very experienced in the use of Visual FX (Visual Effects or CGI) and production editing and am more than happy to spend one on one sessions in teaching my skills and experience with you if you are interested. You may think that editing is tedious and boring, this is not true. Editing is the key to making a great show and hence requires more creativity than any other role within the TV network. If you are interested in producing or editing film of which you have already captured, feel free to contact me on
Head of Technical
Simon Hyslop
Hi, I’m a German and Management student and have been with the station for the past 3 years. You don’t have to be a Film or TV student to get involved, we can teach you everything you need to know! Tech is my area, so if you’re interested in getting involved with cameras, sound, vision mixing or working the website, get in touch and I’ll get you involved. You don’t have to jump straight in – come along and see what it’s all about! Contact me via email or Twitter…
Hi, I’m the Head of Development and Marketing at RU:ON for 2013/2014. I’m in charge of getting the studio to the public eye, making branding both subtle and ambitious and generally assisting anyone interested in the station, whether inside or outside the university. I aim to improve our relationships with as many societies and students as possible, as well as helping freshers who are looking to join and make work with the station, so if you have any questions about the station you’re welcome to message me by e-mail or Twitter.
